The issue has also been discussed at today's media conference held in Bern. The question about the mask has been answered by Michael Gerber from the Federal Public Health Office (BAG).
Obligation of the mask could be fined by up to 10,000 francs, based on the Law on Epidemit, writes 20minutes.ch.
The violation of the wearing of a mask, when it is done by negligence is also punishable, broadcasts albinfo.ch. Those who commit such a violation may be fined up to 5,000 francs.
The prosecution for the alleged wrongdoing is a case that enters canton powers. This criminal offence is valued by competent cantonal authorities.
On the other hand, a store owner may decide for himself whether to make criminal remarks about violating the obligation of the mask.
Police are tasked with reporting whether they reveal alleged violations of the mask obligation, albinfo.ch records. It remains to be seen whether violations will really be followed.
