Spain, first EU state to pass threshold of over one million infected

The Ministry of Health announced today that 16,973 people were infected in the last 24 hours, totaling 1,005,295 since the beginning of the epidemic.

156 people died in the last 24 hours, and 34.366 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic.

Spain, with a population of about 47 million, is the sixth country in the world to pass the threshold of one million infected after the United States, India, Brazil, Russia, and Argentina.
