Salih Mustafa, former soldier in the Kosovo Liberation Army, has been declared innocent in the courtroom at The Hague for all points he is accused of.
Before being found guilty or innocent, Mustafa has made a statement before the judge of the preliminary procedure, through which he requested that the Serb crimes committed against Albanian civilians in Kosovo be investigated, he said.
This was Salih Mustafa's statement before Judge Nicolas Guillo:
The Specialised Chamber of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Judge, ladies and gentlemen, since I am the first citizen of the Republic of Kosovo to appear before this court with a confirmed indictment, I have to say a few words, or, rather, I want to make a statement.
I Salih Mustafa, former freedom fighter and former KLA member, deeply believed in the NLA soldier's oath, and the morality of my fellow fighters, being deeply convinced that the KLA's struggle for freedom and independence has been right, inevitable and necessary. Because the long occupation and the fascist regime of Slobodan Milosevic's genocide-sized, and after the bloody wars of this butcher in Croatia and Bosnia, me and my people had left little choice; or to end up in refugee camps in Western Europe, without honor, without freedom, or to be organized into a complete resistance, which culminated in the liberation of freedom, independence, and democratic state.
Your Honor. The judge, believing in my morale, my beliefs and character, which I have built for 34 years of my life in the service of my homeland, the road to freedom, and in the service of democratic institutions of my country, by respecting and honoring and honoring the friendly states that helped our freedom, by being deeply convinced that the KLA has never been a terrorist organisation or a organized criminal group, but an army that was born of the people and that with great effort and sacrifice has been shed the blood of the best girls of the nation's has become the cornerstone of freedom that we enjoy today.
Wanting to believe that these Specialised Chambers will not be influenced by local or international politics, but neither by interest in scores of interests or interest groups, wishing that this court, my country's enemies will not be able to use against my Republic and its citizens, defaming those individuals or groups of individuals, be they local or international, that for narrow political interests, wealth or other low interest, they are striking the foundations of our freedom, fighting the right KLA, and trying to crucify freedom fighters and narrow interests, as long as they have blinded their minds, blinded their own minds, hatred, and hatred have blinded their souls. For this category, I can't find adequate words to express than the divine words of Jesus Christ at the time of the intersection when he says “forgive, God, for they don't know what they're doing.
Honored, Mr. Judge, thanking the opportunity you gave me to express yourself freely, believing in justice and democratic values, taking the chance of this court calling on MEPs, Kosovo MPs, policymakers of European states, Kosovo politicians, and European justice, to awaken the human, democratic and humanitarian conscience, that this special selection court, which in the parliaments of international justice, is unknown, to expand competencies, to judge and justice, even to the 1300 children killed by massacres, 16 thousand victims, for the return of the 16 grand capital, and for the disappearance of mass combined, still indispentted family destruction, and for Kosovo's cause of mass destruction, and forauverted economies, and for mass destruction, and forcible crime, and for Kosovo. Because I'm convinced that reconciliation is not achieved by sharpening the jelly swords and victims for the dead. But neither will the peace and democratic prosperity in the Balkans be achieved by culling the autocratic national chasm made up of Aleksandar Vuciq, Ivica Dacic of Alexander Vopi, who were active acts in Milosevic's regime, and now as the derivatives of that regime, have been converted into partnerships of salons, which also today with their fascist policies are beating off the freedom and citizens of my state, the combined thousands in eastern Kosovo and Sandzak are suffering, denying even basic human rights on the other side, on the other side of the Western Balkan states building democracy. And on this mission, they're being supported by their evil ally.
Hoping that this court will produce justice and justice only, even though I have not yet received the uncensed indictment, and all the paperwork of the matter, I assure you, in this court of law and law, that I will use the truth, for truth and justice. Today I am willing to plead for innocence or guilt.
