Amfilohije Radovic, the highest cleric of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, who refuses to wear a mask and has called a pilgrimage of Muslims as the “vaccinate of God”, has tested positive with coronary, his office said on Wednesday.

The 82-year-old Mitrovici, who possesses a lot of political influence in the country, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday, but said he felt good after one night at a Podgorica hospital.

He's under the constant care of doctors”, said his office statement.

From December to August of this year, Mitrovici Amfilohije played a key role in protests on a law on non-combated religions in the small Balkan country with 620,000 residents, NATO member and aspiring to the European Union.

Disagreements over the law, which allowed the state to take over certain religious properties, helped the opposition win parliamentary elections on August 30th, removing President Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists from power.

After the outbreak of COVIED-19, Amfilohije regularly appeared in public without a mask. During ceremonies in May to honour a 17th-century bishop, Vasilije Ostroski Creator of Miracles, he called the pilgrimage of believers and respected cleric “

The “would be good if today's scientists invented the vaccine, but before it is found there is a vaccine that has operated over the centuries,” he said at theOstog Monastery near Podgorica.

So far, there have been 188 deaths and 12,584 corruption infections in Montenegro.

The Serbian Orthodox Church has about 12 million followers, mainly in Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro.
