German Ambassador to Belgrade Thomas Schieb has said dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is one of the main issues in Germany's political agenda.
Schieb has said that the dialogue is already mediating the European Union and that Germany strongly supports the work of Slovak emissary Miroslav Lajcak.
“We already have a format of Belgrade dialogue, Pristina, mediated by the EU special emissary Miroslav Lajcak, and Germany is part of the EU and supports such a format and everything that Lajcak's team undertakes”, has added to the German diplomat.
Schieb has said Germany supports the process and says it will also exploit the German presidency for that.
Asked what way the presidency will be exploited, Schieb has explained that the German “encourages both sides to be publicly or behind closed doors to be constructive in dialogue”.
The German ambassador has said it is important to reach a comprehensive agreement, since the entire development of the region depends on such an issue.
“will be a major step towards membership in the European Union. We're going to do everything in our hands”, Schieb said away.
