The chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics (OEK), Berat Rukiqi, has said it is not time to make changes in terms of the Economic Recovery Bill.
On the other hand, he said this law is important to boost economic efficiency.
If changed, he gets a basis to implement the provision that people constantly have to pull their tools from the pension trust. This approach, I don't think, is right in this case. We don't have time to make changes that can be adjusted or better, but the treatment being made to this subject exceeds this reasonableness to have a law on recovery that deals with all these subjects in a single law”.
Even at the beginning of the pandemic and all the time we're in the pandemic, it's insisted that there's a law on economic recovery and there's also part of the fiscal facilities and the share of financial support, but also the part that has to do with stimulating aggregate demand, so this change of brain law and its functioning economic recovery does not seem reasonable to me what we need in the economy. There is also an expectation that they will have the means available very quickly and that a procedure will be introduced so that we can have a complete change of law that takes the time of”.
According to him, the PDK's initiative for changes in the Law on Trust has been an earlier proposal that has not received support.
He said he is playing table tennis at the expense of the interests of citizens and businesses.
“has been a legal initiative of the PDK since the beginning which was then extremely necessary and was not voted on, so it was necessary for the Government to propose a recovery law and is still not being voted. It's been played ping-pong at the expense of the interests of citizens and businesses. This table tennis among political parties does not contribute to what we now need”, Rukiqi told EO.
Rukiqi said that the current bill reflects almost all business demands, so as such, he says it should be voted in order that the separate means have businesses at their disposal until October.
“We now need quick decisions because we have said that economic recovery is not a topic that makes a political party better or worse. This is the topic that matters to all parties because we benefit all because it can stabilise economically and move forward with other agendas that are important to political parties. The benefit of this recovery agenda, any benefits that one intends to gain from this agenda, is fallible”.
Therefore, according to Rukiqi, political resentment should be left on the sidelines in order to vote on this bill, EO reports.
We talked to the opposition and the government over the past week to sit at the table, and if we don't have problems with content then if there is to be a whole new law on this case. But if we have a law that can be adopted in the first and second reading, then the opportunity to meet through reading and then be with thoughts and proposals of all acts including the business community”.
We're in the game of common political resentments that happen to us where the law of recovery is all connected to all other agendas and if there's no progress in those other agendas between political parties, then this law gets blocked and then citizens pay the damage and businesses”.
