Prime Minister Hoti cools in interference from Albin Kurti's party in connection with 1-year baptism

Albin Kurti's personal party has today submitted a request for interference for Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti because of one of the points of the Washington-based agreement, which concerns one-year-old baptism about suspending efforts for membership in international organisations. Indeed, Kosovo benefited greatly from a point [...]

Indeed, Kosovo benefited greatly from such an agreement clause, which prevented Serbia from campaigning for Kosovo's recognitions of independence. In the past two years, Kosovo has come with much recognition, while it has not been accepted by any international organisation.

But Kurti's party considers accepting such a point implies weakening Kosovo's position against Serbia in the dialogue process.

The VV's approach has also addressed criticism of the United States, saying that the requirement for suspending membership efforts in international organisations is to give up sovereignty until they ask what connection such a deal point has with economic development.

“Undoubtedly this is a requirement for Kosovo for a year to give up its behaviour as a normal and sovereign state. Why is Kosovo required to relinquish its sovereignty, even temporarily? What does this have to do with Kosovo's economic development? Membership in international organisations helps the economy, does not prevent it”, says the Vetevendosje Movement announcement.

Full announcement:

Today, the Parliamentary Group of Movement V EVENTION! has submitted the request for Avdullah Hoti's intervention for the year-long suspension of the Republic of Kosovo's membership in international organisations.

The membership of the Republic of Kosovo in international, regional and global intergovernmental and intergovernmental organisations, specialised or general, in addition to advancing the different interests of its institutions in multilateral reports, primarily is an expression of the international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo. Avdullah Hot's unilateral pledge to suspend the search for membership in international organisations, except it is a one-year break of Kosovo's citizenship in the international sphere and system, is also to block many initiatives, different Kosovo state projects and processes and its institutions at the international level. Many of these processes have also had numerous challenges to overcome on their way to international co-operation, which are now blocked by the Kosovo government itself. Their recovery is by no means easy. The year-long horror in their action plan multiplies in years of effort to achieve certain agendas of interstate and inter-institutional co-operation.

As custom has already been made when it comes to surrendering before Serbia's conditions and then turning into concessions for the latter, the June 15th declaration to suspend Kosovo's membership in international organisations was materialised on 4 September in Washington in the form of unilateral pledge for Serbia. No doubt this is a requirement for Kosovo for a year to give up its behaviour as a normal and sovereign state. Why is Kosovo required to relinquish its sovereignty, even temporarily? What does this have to do with Kosovo's economic development? Membership in international organisations helps the economy, does not prevent it.

In addition to diplomatic damage from the government's move, giving up membership in international organisations as a rationalist for Serbia to suspend Kosovo's independence-recognition campaign is a position with irresistable consequences in relation to dialogue with Serbia. There can be no agreement on recognition and ending with mutual recognition between the two states, entering the process of dialogue with a neutral position on Kosovo's independence from its own government. Kosovo's multi-pronged assistance with Serbia is taking on an official form of asset, even nominally, putting Kosovo's status dialogue on the table for negotiation.

This unilateral individual pledge to suspend research for membership in international organisations conflicts with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic. Avdullah Hoti and whoever is not able to abolish the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and cannot impose any individual commitments on the Kosovo state.
