The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, will serve Christmas in the Vatican without believers, as he spent Easter during quarantine due to the Corona virus, CNA news agency reported today.
The Vatican announced that Christmas ceremonies will be of a private “character”, without the presence of believers and the diplomatic body, and that everything will be on the internet.
December is traditionally the month in which Mass attracts thousands of believers to Rome.
The 83-year-old Pope had to give up his rapprochement with believers in the spring, as well as travel abroad and numerous ceremonies.
More than 37,000 people have died in Italy since the beginning of the Corona virus.
