Stephanie Turcos Williams, who heads the United Nations Mission in Libya, said the parties reached permanent ceasefire in all parts of Libyan territory.
“Today is a good day for Libyan people”, Williams said at a press conference.
At the time the parties were signing the long-awaited agreement, the United Nations Mission in Libya issued a statement, writes Anadolu.
It says: “Joint Military Commission talks 5+5 in Geneva today culminated in a historic agreement after Libyan teams reached permanent ceasefire agreements throughout Libya. This agreement is an important point of turning towards peace and stability in Libya”.
Otherwise, Libya in recent years has been involved in political crisis and civil war, where General Khalifa Haftar has fought against the forces of government recognised by the international community.
