Member of PDK: Shaip Kamber's speech must wake up Kosovo, Albania

Basmir Xhemaj, PDK Communication Director, has said Shaip Kamberi's speech in Serbia's parliament, Kosovo and Albania must wake up from sleep to co-ordinate and arrange joint actions in foreign policy.

Xhemaj via a post on the social network Facebook said Camber's speech should alert the West, which he thought were turning Serbia into the next Belarus.

The Deputetti Shaip Kamberi did not speak yesterday in Serbia's Parliament alone in the name of Albanians in the Presevo Valley. He also spoke on behalf of Albanians in the Balkans, Bosniaks and Montenegrins. He struck into the eye of corrupt Serbian rulers the bitter truth that, in the Assembly of 250 deputies, only 6 MPs are opposition, even those from national minorities in Serbia. He denounced Milosevic's chauvinist policy, which is continuing by other means by his ideological children, Vuciq and Dacic”.

Shaip Kamber's sentence should also alert the West, which is slowly turning Serbia into future Belarus. Even, as MP Kamberi rightly said, “at least there are opposition in the street, while in Serbia the political opposition, free media and civil society” has died. An undemocratic Serbia will be even more dangerous than Milosevic's in the near future. And Albanians are the first to suffer”.

In particular, his monumental speech should awaken Kosovo and Albania from sleep to co-ordinate and arrange joint actions in foreign policy. We have not seldom witnessed events in which Pristina opposes the regional market, and Tirana contributes to it. Or, when Pristina rejects the Tirana mini-sengene lobbie for it. Albanians are detained and imprisoned every day they have chosen to travel through Serbia, and our governments are silent and limited to statements. Foreign ministries in Kosovo and Albania have so far failed to denounce every day the new political, military and non-democratic hegemony being born in the Balkans”, Xhemaj wrote.
