Pacolli: Hoti told “po” mini-marne, of “jo” EU membership

LVV deputy Victory Pacolli said Kosovo's prime minister, in full opposition to the country's Constitution, has pledged to suspend the legitimate right of the state of Kosovo to join international organisations.

She said it was Serbia's request that Kosovo give up its application for membership in international organisations, while said it would sit at the negotiating table with Serbia, according to her, Prime Minister Hoti suspended Kosovo's citizenship.

Kosovo is an independent state, but being an independent state is not enough unless international subjectivity is recognised and we should know it well. Kosovo's membership in international regional organisations remains the necessary option to ensure recognition of international subjectivity and citizenship. As a small state, Kosovo cannot possibly extend its diplomatic network to every corner of the world. Membership in international organisations creates room for the extent of its influence and gives voice to advance its interests. Membership in the international organization Mr. Hoti is recognition of Kosovo's independence by states that have not yet recognised Kosovo. Through collective recognition of membership in international organisations ensures Kosovo the right to vote in these organisations and formally equates it with other states”, she said.

With this pledge not to apply for membership in international organisations, Pacolli said it is damaging the position of the state of Kosovo even in those organisations where he is currently a member.

“How it is possible that a one-year rhetoric does not apply when it comes to Kosovo's participation in the mini-sengen area or in the Novisad area. How can Kosovo suspend the right to join the EU in NATO, U NCO, and the right to join the Novisad area is allowed. How could that be, so you as a pro-American tell them yes to the mini-sengenes and the Novisad area, but no to the European Union. You tell him yes, mini-sengene or the Novisad area, but no NATO membership, that's strange. Say yes to the mini-sengent, but no to the Council of Europe. LVV deputy Victory Pacolli, at the end of her speech, has also presented the resolution about Kosovo's membership in international organisations.

“1. The membership of the Republic of Kosovo in international organisations is the objective expressed through the declaration of independence and the Constitution of Kosovo. 2. The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo requires the Government to continue applications for Kosovo memberships in all international organisations. The Government of Kosovo is committed within two weeks to submit the Kosovo Assembly's action plan for preparations and membership application to international organisations. 3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora will enable and use all legal and constitutional mechanisms in order to realise membership in various international organisations”, she said.
