North Macedonia under way without PCR test, columns develop

At the border point in Han, Elez today, we observed increased circulation of vehicles and citizens heading towards northern Macedonia, but also of those coming toward Kosovo. This is because Kosovo citizens today, but even North Macedonia, can travel without a PCR negative test for Covid-19. Macedonian authorities took this decision last week but took effect from today. Consequently, on the basis of the reciprocity principle, even citizens of Northern Macedonia have the right to enter Kosovo without the PCR test for Individual 19.

And what it seems is that this decision has delighted many citizens of Kosovo who were many seen at the border checkpoint in Han, Elez, that had headed towards northern Macedonia. Some for visits and some for other jobs.

Abbas Luta, who works as a taxi driver, has enjoyed the decision to drive around the two countries without having to test negative PCR for COVID-19, as he has been unable to work at all for months now.

We work taxis here at the Han border area of Elez... It's been a months-long blockade, no work, no family contact because we're also connected by relatives. Today I believe it's turned on and done better. Not absolutes. We haven't worked because even if we do it in the Corleone test, the passengers haven't been able to travel, so we haven't worked since March for”, this citizen said.

Seyrem Krasniqi from Lipjan is happy that he can now visit his relatives without any restrictions.

During the time it was in force that after the negative PCR test Kosovo will not circulate towards Northern Macedonia, Krasniqi says he has gone to this country, but always has to have this kind of test.

Bekim Buyup and his family have chosen to spend the first day of the week in Skopje City.

All had put on masks, so Buyup says they are not feeling endangered despite the virus still in our midst.

In addition to citizens from Kosovo, many were citizens from Northern Macedonia whom the Kosovo team Press met at the Han border point in Elez.

Visiting his relatives in the year, the Kosovo border was also targeted by Salih Kabashi. Accompanied by his wife, Kabashi says test not asked to enter Kosovo PCR negative.

“After 5-6 months we are coming to Kosovo... no nothing has been required, well we have passed”, Kabashi said.

Out of homesickness for Kosovo since test removal day P CR, Muhamet Sinani from Skopje has taken the road to Kosovo.

Sinan says everything was just like before, even though he thought I'd be in the columns any longer, he says the road was even circulated.

We're not required to test. Nothing, anything like forward... no expectations are common during this season, I thought I'd rather wait but no... we're going to miss Kosovo... since the pandemic started this PCR8x1>, Sinan said.

Months ago, Northern Macedonia had made the decision that Kosovo citizens could go to this state only by having a negative PCR test within 48 hours.
