Nobel's Norwegian committee said the WFP had acted “a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict”.
The given price is 10 million chrona, or $1.1m, writes the BBC.
The 101st winner of this award was shown by the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo.
W spokesman FP said this was a proud “moment”.
The WFP estimates that it has helped some 97 million people a year in 88 different countries. /Periscope
