Max Wosey from Brownton was inspired to sleep outside in the tent that his friend and neighbor Rick left, who died in February.
Rick, who was 74, told Max “promise me you'll make adventures here”, before he died of cancer, reports the BBC, translates Periscope.
Max has managed to collect over 16 thousand pounds for the North Devon Haven who cared for Rick and his wife in their last few days.
The 10-year-old said the best part of sleeping out was “artation” from his parents and the possibility of reading it “Beanon as much as he liked”.
He added that the worst part of this was the weather and insects that entered without asking in the tent.
Max began his sleeping adventure outside the house on March 28th, when he heard that the fund collection event had been cancelled.
Since then he has decided to raise the challenge and sleep outside for a full year.
