The Foundation Court in Gjilan has approved the request of Gjilan's Constitutional Prosecutor, assigning the detention measure of 30 (thirty) days to 24 (one-fourth) suspects who were detained during yesterday's action conducted by the prosecution bodies.
The Founding Court communiqué in Gjilan says there is a suspicion that defendants R.S., L.M., F.A., A.A., N.M., H.R., P.S., A.D., F.B., R.K., I.T., R.A., A. Th and F.K., since November 2019, in the border zone between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, respectively on the village territory of Karacheva municipality of Kamenica, in continuation, deliberately and with the aim of illegal property benefits, have taken action to smuggle cattle, which have carried them through illegal routes outside the border, avoiding customs control.
With these actions, the defendants allegedly committed criminal work smuggling with goods, the work sanctioned with the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK).
The defendants J.H., N.S., Sh.C., K.M., U.A., B.R., A.H., H.M. and J.B., since December 2019, as individuals responsible for meat processing businesses, deliberately and with the aim of enrichment, have bought items for which they have known to be smuggled and deliberately selling and placed in circulation products of meat, without having to do the necessary checks under standards.
Supreme defendants have allegedly committed criminal acts of trafficking, acceptance, or hiding things taken advantage of in the conduct of the criminal work, and the production and circulation of harmful food items, KPRK's.
While, defendant I.K., from September 2019 to September 18, 2020, at the “Automate Club”, in the village of Karacheva, with the aim of illegal property gains, illegally and consistently organised lucky games, which are prohibited by law.
These actions allegedly carried out the criminal act, organising the pyramid schemes and illegal gambling of KPRK.
Prudimentary procedure judge in the General Department Ramiz Azazi, after holding the hearing, has considered legal conditions for the appointment of the detention measure to the defendants to be met, as the appointment of other alternative measures would hinder normal criminal procedure development.
The sides have the right to appeal to this decision at the Court of Appeals.
