Missing family say Mirjet was killed and buried by her husband

The area around the Iber River of the City of Mitrovica on Tuesday was a lead investigation.

Kosovo police, in co-operation with the units of the Security Search Force and divers, have been seeking Mirjeta Zeka Shaban.

The 41-year-old was reported missing from her brothers on March 31, 2019.

But Mirjeta's body was not found here as research continued at another location, which is being kept secret. And her family are convinced Mirjeta was murdered by her husband, Nehat Shabani.

He had been married 12 years earlier until he was Shaban's third wife. She and her husband lived in Germany, and on vacation they came to Kosovo. No more children.

Her brother Rexhepi says her sister didn't have a happy life with her but didn't want to worry them. Zeka also blames the Prosecutor for neglect of this case. He says he's sure his sister doesn't live anymore.

And Mirjeta's other brother, Besnik, says they have also sought help from German investigators for the job but that the prosecution in Mitrovica has refused co-operation.

Television on Wednesday has also stayed at the home of Mirjeta Zeka's husband in the village of Sfarakak in Vushtrri. But the doors to the house have been closed.

And Shaban's family told the team they had no contact with Nehat Shaban. According to them, when Mirjeta Zeka disappeared, their family member Nathan Shabani told those who left her.

Meanwhile, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica has refused to provide details on this criminal case. Case prosecutor Nojazi Rexha has said the investigation into the case is continuing.
