| German Chancellor Angela Merkel said today that the country could lose control over COVID-19 pandemic, if regions with rising infection rates do not harden the measures.
“Reresect an exponential spread of the virus, if health authorities are no longer able to follow the infection chains”, Merkel warned after a videoconference with the mayors of Germany's 11 largest cities. “The numbers of infections can increase, but we are everything but powerless”, she added, reports ATS. The Chancellor welcomed the restoration of restrictions in several cities, including Berlin, and praised Munich, who already proved that the spread of the virus can be controlled by mask usage rules and the restriction of association. |
