Democratic League of Kosovo deputy leader Lutfi Haziri has denied he will be a candidate for Kosovo president. In an interview for Kosovo Press, Haziri said the LDK has no other name for the post except party leader Isa Mustafa. Haziri also spoke of local elections, where he said there is no ambition for another term at Gjilan's helm.
Haziri said that as a party, they have not talked to anyone about the post of president of the country and therefore have no agreement with any political subject.
But, Haziri said he could even accept a name that could bring all parliamentary groups to the Kosovo Assembly.
“Ende we have no agreement for president, I repeat repeatedly that LDK has offered its constructive role to give the country stability. We are for a consensual president, the more consensual in the Republic Parliament, beyond if there is a chance in order to give the country stability. The LDK has not talked to anyone about the issue of dividing the president's role. If the LDK is on a warrant, or the LDK has to lead it, we believe we will make our contribution and have no other name but Isa Mustafa. The LDK agrees principally with every name that draws all sides, all parties in the Republic Assembly to elect a president as much as possible”, Haziri has said.
Apart from choosing that the president, the country will go to local elections next year, and many parties and candidates have already formalised their candidacy.
Haziri said there is no ambition for the fifth term at the helm of the Gjilan municipality, however, said the LDK branch in this town will propose a candidate that goes even beyond the party.
“As for Gjilan, I'm in my fourth term as chosen, if we do it as a division because I took the post of minister in 2005 and returned to Christmas in 2013 in the Gjilan municipality elections. I don't have ambitions, but I'm working hard in Gjilan to give support to a candidate as consensual as possible that comes out, not only for the LDK, but beyond the LDK, a citizen who can take over the leadership of the Gjilan municipality in the upcoming election mandate”, Haziri said.
