Lull Raka shows what awaits the country after the rise of coronary cases

Microbiologist Lul Raka says that Kosovo is currently in better shape than most countries in Europe, in terms of the epidemiological situation and, according to him, the slight increase in cases is manageable for health capacities.

This growth, in addition to increasing community cases, can also be attributed to increasing the number of tests. Out of 3687 tests conducted in the previous week, there has been an increase of 6380 in the last week. Asked what the solution is to be made so that the risk does not increase even further, Raka said empowering inspectors and police for strict monitoring of the implementation of preventive measures at every institution in the country is needed.

“Pokus of inspection of implementation of precautionary measures by inspectors and police must be: Locked spaces: coffeebending, bars, restaurants, shopping malls and other mass collection points, public transportation, religious institutions, public institutions, public and private enterprises, especially those that have large numbers of employees”, he added.

Also, the ongoing monitoring and assessment of the epidemiological situation, testing of people with suspicious symptoms for COVID-19 and their contacts, rapid isolation of positive cases and effective tracking of contacts, conveys their quarantine. However, we should not give up but remind the people that the SARS-CoV-2 virus will be in circulation within the community and that they should reduce exposure through already recognised measures: distances, masks and hand hygiene. This should also be added to avoiding residence in places where there are gatherings of people, especially in closed and unfaded objects”, he said.

Microbiologist Raca reaffirmed that if we implement the precautions imposed on the COVID-19 pandemic, then the number of cases will be manageable for Kosovo health institutions.
