Even the increase in the number of infected are said to be on the basis of tests conducted, which in recent days have been in greater numbers.

Microbiologist Lul Raka says that Kosovo is currently in better shape than most countries in Europe, in terms of the epidemiological situation and, according to him, the slight increase in cases is manageable for health capacities.

This growth, in addition to increasing community cases, can also be attributed to increasing the number of tests. Out of 3687 tests conducted in the previous week, there has been an increase of 6380 in the last week. In terms of definition, there is no international uniform standard of what we call a second wave. This term refers only to the release of the disease after a period of initial decline. But the same principle can be applied to the third wave. The wave you are asking about links to the autumn-day season, and for some it is second and third for Kosovo”, Raka has declared.

In fact, according to him, reopening schools and turning into closed spaces because of weather cooling will inevitably increase people's circulation as the autumn season also restores the seasonal flu virus.

All these factors are elements that affect the increase in cases of disease. This, therefore, strengthens the role of implementing precautions from the population and monitoring them from the state bodies. The final result will depend on the implementation of measures by Kosovo's own citizens and on strict inspection of government institutions”, said microbiologist Raka.

Asked what the solution is to be made so that the risk does not increase even further, Raka said empowering inspectors and police for strict monitoring of the implementation of preventive measures at every institution in the country is needed.

“Pokus of inspection of implementation of precautionary measures by inspectors and police must be: Locked spaces: coffeebending, bars, restaurants, shopping malls and other mass collection points, public transportation, religious institutions, public institutions, public and private enterprises, especially those that have large numbers of employees”, he added.

It was even pointed out that the application of public health precautions - physical distance, wearing masks according to MSH's guide, shaking hands, and avoiding position in places where there are human collections are necessary.

Also, the ongoing monitoring and assessment of the epidemiological situation, testing of people with suspicious symptoms for COVID-19 and their contacts, rapid isolation of positive cases and effective tracking of contacts, conveys their quarantine. We still have time to celebrate the final victory over the virus. This will be several months after the launch of the vaccine”, microbiologist Lul Raca stressed on news.net.

According to the same behavior in society, it is the key to treating this pandemic.

After seven months of tiring effort, it's normal for some people to lower the compass with the implementation of preventive measures. However, we should not give up but remind the people that the SARS-CoV-2 virus will be in circulation within the community and that they should reduce exposure through already recognised measures: distances, masks and hand hygiene. This should also be added to avoiding residence in places where there are gatherings of people, especially in closed and unfaded objects”, he said.

Microbiologist Raca reaffirmed that if we implement the precautions imposed on the COVID-19 pandemic, then the number of cases will be manageable for Kosovo health institutions.
