Millions of London will face stricter restrictive measures as a result of COVID-19 starting on Saturday, the BBC writes.
Essex is also expected to pass on a higher scale of restrictions from the weekend.
According to Tier 2 restrictions, households are forbidden to mix in closed environments, both in pubs and restaurants, and are also required to try to avoid public transportation.
The decision comes as even Greater Manchester is expected to pass to the highest degree of restriction.
Speaking at the Assembly meeting in London, Mayor Sadiq Khan has said there is no other possibility.
“No one wants to see more restrictions, but this is seen as necessary to protect the Londoners”, Khan said.
Great Britain is marking records of new Corleone cases.
