Italy is facing a significant increase in cases with COVID-19, with more than 10,000 sick per day, and Lombardia is the most affected region, as in the beginning of the pandemic, in February and March.
Italy's economic lung with Venice and Emilia-Romania, Lombardia recorded yesterday 1 687 new cases with COVID-19 out of 9 338 cases throughout Italy.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Lombardia has recorded 128 456 cases, of which 17 084 deaths, according to figures published by the Ministry of Health.
From October 12th to October 19th, the number of patients hospitalised in Lombardi has increased by 145% and the number of patients in intensive care to 126%, forcing regional authorities to demand this curfew, as well as the weekend closure of shops that do not sell food or first-need products.
