Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj after meeting with EU Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak has voiced optimism that dialogue will resume soon.
He said Serbia is trying through the blockades to drag this process, which, according to him, must be concluded with mutual recognition.
The “needs to clear off any exacerbation, the obstacle that frustrates the outcome of the dialogue and knows that Mr. Lajcak and his cabinet are doing a great deal of work. I expect in the following days to intensify dialogue and conclude with the agreement binding on mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia”, he said.
Limaj before reporters said there is nothing wrong with including association with the competencies that are appointed by the Constitutional Court in the final agreement.
The “in comprehensive agreements should include association with the findings or competencies of the Constitutional decision, and Kosovo has obligations it must implement. Here I see no trouble, for me it is important that the agreement be for mutual recognition and within it be association as envisioned by the Constitutional Court”, he said.
Meanwhile, he said Kosovo has repeatedly made compromises to return to dialogue with Serbia.
Kosovo has made compromises to return to dialogue, we have had requests from our friends to return to dialogue. This dialogue is about recognition. In this direction like Kosovo, we need to focus on this topic of closing this agreement”, he said.
