The serial killer named Luciferi has recently said there is no regret in killing 48 prisoners.
Marcos Paulo da Silva was 18 when he was first imprisoned for petty theft in 1995, but he now faces imprisonment to death following his transformation into one of Brazil's most dangerous prisoners. He first became famous for the capital killings of five prisoners at the Serra Azul Jail complex in São Paulo in 2011.
42-year-old Da Silva reportedly used a fire extinguisher to make them lose their senses before cutting their heads with an improvised knife, which is his largest massacre yet today.
Da Silva, packed with broken cross tattoos and paint on his head, has not been tried for many of his crimes, but only with his sentences has a 217-year sentence been fabricated.
He recently told a judge: “They were rapists and thieves who benefited from other inmates and robbed them of”.
His unusual story has been portrayed in local media, where da Silva is described as the leader of a band of guitars created to kill PCC members one of Brazil's largest prison gangs.
Officials say it is only a matter of time before Da Silva kills again and is transferred to another prison. But the number of prisons accepting it is shrinking. Psychologists say that he is mentally ill and should be treated urgently.
