Although the number of cases of Covid-19 in schools has increased, the Ministry of Education does not predict the complete closure of school institutions.
The UN has announced that to date, a total of 54 teachers and 22 infected students have been reported.
This institution in one response has stressed that schools will not be closed, but will organise instruction according to the Ministry's general guide by respecting three scenarios, school instruction, combined learning and online learning, depending on the situation with pandemic.
The situation in the school is currently in order, schools are complying with the instructions of the UN, the MSH and the IKSHPK. Essentially, they are operating based on the UN General Guide for the organisation of teaching in pandemic conditions and response protocol to the Devid-19” pandemic, said the UN response.
And Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has not responded to whether schools can be closed again in case the situation worsens with the pandemic, but has said it will be carried out according to protocol in force.
The “at the moment a case is presented follows the necessary protocols that we have developed even inside with the IKSHPK and the Ministry of Health following WHO's international experience”, he said.
A day earlier, Hoti has warned of the tightening of measures if cases with Ovidius increase, until he said the risk of a recent wave of Covid-19 in Kosovo is enormous. Through a Facebook status he wrote that the percentage of tested students who have proved positive is high and leads to danger of spreading the virus.
“We all need to have understanding about the tightening of the measures in the coming weeks, including disruptions of closed gatherings, restrictions of any activity where citizens gather, rigorous school checks for meeting measures for the protection from Ovid-19 and other measures”, the prime minister has written.
Several positive cases have been recorded Monday in Pristina schools. At the school “Peter Bogdani” have proved positive five cases, out of them 3 teachers, 1 student and 1 technical worker. This has made the school close for the next two weeks.
