The case, Karacheva, 22 other persons are arrested.

The event was the continuation of the 18 September operation, where Kosovo police have arrested 37 people in connection with the case.

This has been made known by Gjilan's Founding Prosecutor, showing that even evidence that will serve in further criminal procedure has been seized.

“During the execution of the warrants, in 11 locations related to economic subjects and 17 locations linked to physical persons, significant amounts of property, weapons, items and harmful food items have been seized, tools that have served to carry out criminal acts, and other evidence that will serve in further criminal procedure.”, the prosecution's announcement said.

It has also been hinted that Kosovo Police will continue investigations and actions related to the operation dealt with Karacheva.

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan has held a media conference regarding the current action, in co-operation and co-ordination with the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and other law enforcement agencies, in several areas of Kosovo, including the region of Gjilan, Ferizaj, Prizren, Podujevo, Peja, Suhareka and Vita.

The action has been a continuation of the operation held on September 18th 2020, in the area of Karacheva and other regions, which has resulted in 37 people being detained.

Today's operation has been conducted because of allegations based on high-profile locations that criminal activity has been developed, including smuggling goods, running harmful food items, buying, accepting or hiding items profitable with the carrying out of criminal work, and organising pyramid schemes and illegal gambling.

As a result of today's action, a total of 22 people suspected have been detained, in the duration of 48 hours allegedly involved in criminal activities, against which measures will be sought within the legal deadline for the security of defendants in criminal procedure, by the competent Court in Gjilan.

During the execution of the warrants, 11 locations related to economic subjects and 17 locations related to physical persons have seized considerable amounts of cattle, weapons, items and harmful food items, tools that have served to perform criminal acts, as well as other evidence that will serve in more criminal procedures.

While, the number of banned persons since the beginning of this action has gone to 59.

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan, in co-ordination and co-operation with Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, will continue to undertake all necessary investigative actions regarding the case.
