British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today it is up to Europeans to use logic to reach a postBrex trade agreement with Great Britain in order to avoid a “no deal” on January 1st.
“It is more than possible to reach an agreement, despite continuing disputes, is up to our friends and partners to use the sound reason”, the conservative leader said in an interview with the BBC.
“I hope we reach a deal, that depends on our friends. They made a deal with Canada of the kind we want, why don't they make it with us? We are so close, we have been EU members for 45 years. We have it in hand, it depends on them”, Johnson added.
The BM left the EU on 31 January, but continues to implement EU rules by 31 December.
In the absence of an agreement by this date, a sudden disruption of trade would further shake up economies already weakened by COVID-19 pandemic.
