Jasharaj: The decision to release teachers with serious health problems is not being respected

Chairman of the United Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture ( Pumman Jasharaj in a proposal for Telegrafi has spoken of education personnel who have been affected with COVID-19 as well as the decision of the Ministry of Education for Educators who have health problems will be released from the learning process. Jasharaj said the situation [...]
Jasharaj said the situation in the pre-graduate education system is stable in terms of the number of infected with COVIDD-19, by educational personnel.
He said that so far, the number of educational personnel affected by COVID-19 is not large.
In addition to what has been published so far regarding the Fyik Konicaı school, two separate Besia parallels and two cases at the primary school éram Currié, of Istog, we have three cases in Suhareka, all known by last week. This week we have no information that this number may have moved, and that makes us realize that the situation in the pre-school education system is calm, under control and task forces in schools and educational director are doing their job. What we're doing most is that through the heads of the union associations we deliver the situation so that the optimum conditions for protecting students and teachers with disinfectant and other issues, while the tax forces are doing their job and if there are cases, they know the basis of the versions that they've established. The UN, what should be done”, he said.
Jasharaj also raised concerns about an UN decision, which says some of the educational staff who are seriously ill to rest in this school year.
He said that based on information he has, this decision is not being respected by the DKA, in Kosovo municipalities.
The information we have is not being respected by the UN decision, that our seriously ill colleagues stop this school year, are not in the learning process because of their safety and work for a long-term solution. Our municipal colleagues are saying that there are times when our ill colleagues KKA has not issued a temporary decision not to engage in the teaching process, and this week we should raise it with the UN”, he stressed.
Jasharaj said this week they will try to set up a meeting with Education Minister Rame Likaj to express their concern and get an answer from him.
“If the minister has said this publicly that with his commitment to Government, the budget has been provided for them, and they should not be engaged this year in the education system, as they are much more at risk that they can be affected by COVID-19, because it would be fatal for them. That's why I believe I'm meeting with the minister this week to discuss this matter”, Jasharaj said, among other things.
Otherwise, Minister Likay said days ago that teachers who have health problems will be released from the learning process.
The “is an additional budget under the package that has approved the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. There are over 300 teachers who have health problems, they will be released from the learning process. For those older and health problems presented, there are additional rates”, Minister Likaj has said, among other things.
