A night curfew will take effect in Madrid between midnight and 0600 on Saturday, when the two-week impasse expires, authorities announced today.
“The public and private operations of persons who do not belong to the same house are prohibited during these hours”, the regional government said, ATSA reports.
Spain's central government set a wide deadlock over the surrounding city and communities against the will of the regional government, in an effort to curb the new growth of COVID-19 infections.
The city now seeks to return to previous measures and to isolate mainly those particularly high-profile areas of infection.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has prepared his countrymen for very difficult months and called for more discipline in the content of the virus, aimed at preventing a new nationwide impasse.
