According to the”Robbert Koch” (RKI) institute, 2828 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
At the peak of the pandemic in late March and early April, Germany numbered more than 60,000 new cases a day, reports ATS.
The country has marked a record high daily number for the period after the April peak.
Recent figures released Wednesday showed that another 16 people died from the virus, bringing the death to 9562.
The number of patients with Covid-19 subject to intensive care has increased to 449”, according to RKI, where a week ago it was 352 persons.
