For the second day in Germany, 11,000 new cases of coronary infection are reported. A doctor of the management team warned that 20,000 infections per day could mean another closure.
On Friday (23.10) Germany reported 11,242 new cases of infection, marking the second day in a row with more than 11,000 new daily infections.
Since the start of the pandemic, this is the first week that numbers over 10,000 new cases within 24 hours. Over the past seven days, the rate of infection across the country has increased to 60.3 cases per 100,000, compared with 56.2 per 100,000 people from the previous day. The death toll increased by 49 to 9954.
Is a second closure necessary?
Looking at the increasing numbers, a medical expert on the management team said, a second closure may be needed if 20,000 new daily infections are passed. Then it would no longer be possible for health authorities to track and cut off the shackles of the infection,” told the daily Rheinsche Post. Then we can be ready for a second closure because there is no other way to slow down the virus. ”
Montgomery also told the paper that any possible vaccine against the Coronavirus would not be a “ilaç” and that the vaccine of the entire population could last “dy to three years”.
Minister's Mate Infected
Health Minister Jens Spahn's husband has already joined the ranks of the infected, as Spahn himself proved positive Wednesday (21.10). A Health Ministry spokesman said Friday that Daniel Funke was isolated with his husband Wednesday and had been tested the following day.
He said Spain continues to have slight cold symptoms, while Funke is currently not showing symptoms. Spahn is the first member of the German government cabinet to have been infected by the Coronavirus. Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Chancellor Angela Merkel both passed through short periods of initial isolation, but never resulted positive.
Government Assistance Next
As the pandemic continues to trigger economic slaughter, the German government has pledged to continue with business aid until 2021. Economy Minister Peter Altmayer promised that assistance for the heavily hit tourism industry would continue within European Commission rules. “At present, we are preparing an update of our financial assistance, which we will extend until next year,” he said.
The government has also extended its wage subvention scheme “short-term work time” by the end of 2021, which means it will continue with next year's planned national elections. The scheme allows companies in a difficult position to reduce employees' working hours and pay them instead of firing, and the government partially covers reduced wages.
Increase in Hospital outlyings
Authorities say the increase in cases is reflected in the number of hospital hospital stays in Germany's most populated state, Northern Renania Vesphalia (NRW). According to the NRW government, about 1420 coronary patients are currently hospitalised, compared to 320 a month ago. Of these patients, 275 are in intensive care and 148 are assembled. However, the government said hospitals were far from achieving their capacity, with 1320 still available intensive care sites, down from a total of 5640.
