The number of new cases of COVID-19 in neighbouring Switzerland and Austria reached record levels today.
The Swiss Public Health Office recorded 2,823 cases of coronary infection in one day, about twice as many as a day ago, the ATS reports.
Austria's “Numri day rose to a record 1346 cases. Nearly a third of the new cases occurred in Vienna”, the government said.
The Swiss government is scheduled tomorrow for a crisis meeting with representatives from Switzerland's 26 cantons to discuss the accelerated explosion of COVID-19.
