Hoti said last night he didn't talk behind the curtains, but he added that he's not all that the president does.
I don't know what information this [Hashim Thaci] has and I'm not the person who talks behind the curtain at informal meetings, lunches and dinners. I'm not saying he's doing it. My ongoing dialogue meetings are all known with agenda and official statements of mine and the EU following those” meetings.
The government's chief has assured that so far he has not talked about the competencies of the Serb Major Assembly.
We've never talked about any issues related to the competencies of this association before. It is easy to see whether the state of Kosovo accepts its obligation to establish association. It is our duty, because it has been ratified in the Kosovo Assembly. If 80 Kosovo Assembly deputies depreciate or annul that international agreement, then I have no right to insist, and neither can the EU. No word has even been discussed on the draft of the statute, because we have not come to that point”.
But how can the president and prime minister have different information on the same issue?
The president is the president of the country and has his own communication channels. I'm prime minister and I lead this process and my word is the last for this” process.
Prime Minister Hoti has insisted that the final deal between Kosovo and Serbia should be mutual recognition and that there is no second option for that.
But he has not given a deadline for when this can happen. Even some prime ministers can be changed according to him until Serbia and Kosovo recognise each other.
Perhaps the two prime ministers behind me will say they are working for mutual recognition until we achieve it. There'll be no creative choice, because there's no middle in this. I expect that in the coming months we will come to the conclusion of this process. Do we conclude this process by agreement or not I can't guarantee it. We are one side and the conclusion of the agreement needs to be agreed on both sides”.
Kosovo must do everything to reach this agreement under the principles on which this process should be carried out of preserving the unitary character of the state that puts all discussions on Association with executive competencies out of the table of exchange of territories. For other things we sit down and negotiate as an independent state on international principles”.
