CEC launches preparations for elections in Podujevo, North Mitrovica

The Central Election Commission today decided on setting the deadlines for activities to organise extraordinary elections for North Mitrovica chairmanship.
The CEC also approved the operational plan for organising elections in the municipality of northern Mitrovica, while members agreed that the next meeting should be decided on aspects related to organising elections for the mayor of Podujevo, which were postponed just one day before election day.
The period of application for certificate of political subjects and candidates for the Northern Mitrovica municipality will begin on October 21st, and ends on October 30th 2020, while the date of lots for rankings on balloting and publishing subjects and candidates is November 12th.
The CEC has decided that the election campaign, as well as deadlines for election gatherings, begins on November 12th and ends on November 27th. Delivering the request for accrediting observers of political subjects and local election monitoring organisations begins on October 27th and ends on November 21st.
Delivering the request for accreditment of international observers and media for election monitoring begins on October 27th and ends on November 23rd. The appointment of the Municipal Election Commissions begins on 26 October and ends on 27 October.
Similarly, the CEC has indicated that voter registration application outside Kosovo begins on October 30th and ends on November 7th, as voter registration application begins November 2nd and ends on November 6th.
The deadline for registering for voters with limited movement in any institution and voters under separate circumstances begins on November 16th and ends on November 19th.
The CEC made the decision to approve the budget plan for organising extraordinary elections for North Mitrovica chairman and the additional budget for elections in Podujevo of 193 thousand and 181 euros, for both countries as required by law.
The rest of the spending on organising elections in the Podujevo municipality will be covered by anchored means during February of this year for these elections.
