As the number of people infected with coronarys in the country increased, measures have been warned.
Agim Sahin, chairman of the Kosovo Alliance of Business (AKB), says total closure is a wrong step, as according to him, people have to work, but also learn to live with the virus.
Sahin in an interview for Online Economics has suggested to the country's institutions that there be no closure of borders between Kosovo and the countries of the region, because the economy of these countries connects with each other.
“Determination of measures in a sense are necessary, but closure will never be necessary, and we will not suggest Kosovo institutions, to close the economy as it has been because it has been seen and proved that this has been a wrong step, because we have to work and learn to live with the virus and with protection measures, but the country's economy has to move forward without closure, regardless of what happens in the future states like Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro should not be shut down because its economy is connected, and citizens are connected in cultural form or sports, and whether this is the country's economy has been seen as harmful and we have to take the European Union's 911 measures.
Among other things, he has suggested that the Economic Packages from the Government are welcome, but are not enough.
He has said that the economy has 10% contractions, as well as in internal circulation, has a drop and that a stimulating package is required for that.
“The GDP thinks these economic packages are welcome, but they are small, but we also evaluate budget opportunities because the budget has contractions, the economy has contractions over 10%, even in domestic circulation, and these all require a more stimulating package, as well as forgiveness of debt penalties, because the country's economic crisis fire has to be Government with extenuating policies”.
Sahin says the Law on Economic Regeneration still needs complementing.
“Of course, there is still a need to be fulfilled and there is no need to expect 7 sessions as in the past to understand the MPs its importance, the country's economy and various businesses for the first time need to support institutions, and here I found that the responsibility of MPs is not at the right level compared to the demands of the business community but the government itself in the case of the economic recovery law”.
He has said that by the end of the year the losses caused by the pandemic will amount to about 1 billion euros.
“Dations are inevitable and there are no mechanisms that can accurately give the notes, but the GDP has estimated that by the end of the year the losses will be about 1 billion euros, the package which is planned and about 365 million is one-third of it, and the government will have to produce more laws that have to do with supporting the country's economy, but also dealing with the direct support of businesses and producers in the direction of this first 60 million step, are not enough, but the fact that state institutions are reluctant to adopt laws that have made up with economic recovery is the frustration of Kosovo's citizens, we have told the Shahini.
I don't think they're going to close, but there's going to be more protection measures and all gastronomy owners, hotels should keep their distance and mask and have as much food as they can be made of”.
