So said Josep Borell, the EU High Representative who holds the post of European Commission Deputy Chairman, answering a question of a Europarliamentari who has mentioned the indictment that the Special Prosecutor in The Hague has filed with President Thaci, who has not yet been confirmed by the Court.
“This is an important demonstration of Kosovo's rule of law that is a key element of Kosovo's progress on the European road, but also the EU's overall engagement in the Balkans” is said in response
Borell's answer specifically mentions that the indictment was set up on June 24th and that it is still in the pre-procedure judge.
Borell has recalled that Kosovo talks have been launched in Brussels, saying progress has been made.
The two sides must make efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement task for normalising relations. Such an agreement is urgent and decisive so that Kosovo and Serbia can progress to the European path” is said to answer MPs.
