Australia finds 542kg of cocaine hidden in banana flesh

A man from Sydney, Australia, may be sentenced to life in prison after the police found him with 502 pounds [552 kg] of cocaine, which would be sold for $28 million. The border forces arrested a 68-year-old man in Forestville following information received by American authorities about the suspicious shipment, which had arrived in Australia last month.
Suspect Mark De Hesselle allegedly transported 139 packages of banana flesh. The police searched all the packages to find the entire amount of expensive drugs.
He has been accused of trying to import the commercial amount of controlled drugs and possession of the commercial amount of illegally imported drugs. Both charges bear maximum prison sentences.
The suspected person appeared in court Friday and is continuing to be held in custody. The next session in court is scheduled to be held on December 16th.
