Qalaj said he was notified by his colleague from EULEX for this operation at the moment the operation had begun.
We haven't had any contact with the Special Court since the founding of these days. These arrests occurred some days ago. It's a fact that we haven't been involved in the first action, but I've been informed that an operation is under way. The moment I started was announced by my colleague from EULEX. We have very good cooperation. We've seen that there was a toll in front of OVL's office and it had to be a calming of the situation, to call it that, and I think we've had a lot of impact on the situation to calm”, said Qalaj.
On the other hand, he said he has demanded that Kosovo police be primary in all activities taking place in the country, and optimisticly expressed that there will be progress on this issue.
The decisions are of officials working at The Hague. No one can love Kosovo more of the members of the Kosovo Police and we are here, we are an institution of law enforcement. I have even talked with many of our partners and I have requested that Kosovo police be primary in all activities taking place in the country include actions in case we have any warrants by the Special Court. We have good co-operation with EULEX and I believe that there will be progress on this matter”, Qalaj has said.
