The survey, conducted from October 13th to 20th, shows that 43 percent of Biden's supporters will not accept Trump's victory, while 41 percent of Americans who want Trump re-election will not accept the Biden win.
A small number, 22 percent of Beden's supporters, or 16 percent of Trump's supporters, said they would take action, street protests, and even use violence in order to express their displeasure if their candidate loses.
Columbia University political analyst Donald Green warns that if the change in the number of votes is narrow, or if one of the candidates presents convincing evidence showing electoral fraud, it could cause much broader discontent and protests.
He stresses that this is why many of Trump's opponents hope and want a convincing victory for Biden so that claims of fraud are not convincing.
The latest survey by Reuters and Ipsos shows that on the national level, Biden leads before Tramp with eight percent- 51:43 percent.
The poll included 2,649 respondents, including 1,039 Trump supporters and 1,153 Beden supporters.
