This first day of the new year, I'm starting with this letter. It's for you two. I chose to send it to you because through your destiny and your life example you represent thousands of mothers and fathers throughout our homeland.
May this new year be good for you, for your entire large family of Demak and our nation!
I hope you spend every day of this year with the smiles of your grandchildren, even though you're advanced in age, the wounds of war and post-war injustices weigh heavily on both of you.
