Polish President Andreze Duda named it a very important day for the Polish Air Force and for the security of Poland and Europe” on Friday.
Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Blazczak has signed the agreement and handed the document to the American ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher.
Duda has said it is one of the biggest agreements signed in the history of Poland's armed forces and a sign of strong ties with the US.
The US State Department has welcomed Poland's commitment to modernising the army.
Poland is expected to receive the delivery of planes in 2024-2030.
This country will be the 10th state of NATO will have this kind of plane.
American, Israeli and British forces have already exploited these planes for trial.
US aircraft will replace Soviet-era combat equipment, MiG-29, which Poland still exploits.
