Kosovo's Foreign Affairs Ministry through a media communique has called for Kosovo citizens to avoid travel to Iraq, Iran and Yemen following the tense situation there.

According to the MPJ, these countries do not offer security to Kosovo citizens.

“In line with the institutional and legal obligation to inform the public and to care for the security and integrity of each Kosovo citizen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates these countries do not provide security for their physical integrity”, the communiqué says.

MPJ also says it is informed that there are Kosovo citizens working for various international organisations and companies in Iraq.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they have disabled their diplomatic missions in Middle East states to come to the aid of Kosovo citizens in Iraq

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to its mission to provide protection to Kosovo citizens abroad has activated diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and the United Arab Emirate to provide necessary consular support to Kosovo citizens in Iraq and the region. We have also established contact with the Kurdistan region government to support Kosovo citizens in Iraq” in any need, the MPJ communiqué says. /Periscopi/
