The rebel forces in Libya have threatened to attack civilian planes flying over the capital Tripoli, declaring the city and surrounding areas a “zone without flights”.
Mitiga, the city's only operational airport, was closed Wednesday after the rocket was fired in its direction.
But the UN-backed National Accord Government (GNA) said this airport is now repacked.
Mitiga has been hit several times since General Khalifa Haftar launched an offensive to take over Tripoli from the GNA.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the GNA said the resumption of flights to Mitiga was of great importance.
She called on the UN “to take responsibility in this direction and to take serious and effective measures to ensure the safety of civilians and civil aviation, which faces a dangerous threat from the attack of militia”.
The move came as high diplomats from neighbouring Libya met in Algeria to discuss the end of the conflict in the oil-rich country.
