Rouhan made his comments, when Tehran attacked US military targets in Iraq on January 8th, in retaliation for Washington's elimination of Iranian General Qassem Solejmani.
This recent rise in tensions sparked global calls for reduced tensions, fearing widespread expansion in the Middle East.
President Rouhani that Iran had received its military reward for the murder of General Soliman through missile attacks against Iraqi bases used by the US Army.
