Since early 2019 and continuing, information on Albanian intelligence structures has been targeted by cyber attacks. Hundreds of names of users and passwords have been compromised as a result of these cyber-spy activities, after which the Turkish government seems to stand.

The Albanian Intelligence Service has declared that until now hackers have not affected any classified information as state secret or high security.

On one exclusive report, international news agency Reuters cites three top security officials -- two British and one American -- who confirm hackers have provided illegal access to the network.

According to them, this cyberspy activity is directly linked to the Turkish government and has affected more than 30 government organisations, including embassies, ministries and Greek, Cypriot, Iraqi security services, among them Albanian ones. Also targeted have been several civil society organisations in Turkey, believed to be linked to Fethullah Gylen.

Turkey's Interior Ministry refused to comment on the allegations, while a senior official said Turkey itself has often been the victim of cyber attacks.

Western officials and private internet security experts have identified the method used by hackers, which included overhauling the book of effective internet addresses called Domain Home System (DNS).

They've raised the alarm for increasing cybersceptive cases that affect national security. /Vision Plus/
