German company cancels flights to Tehran

German plane “Lufthansa” announced today the cancellation of flights to Tehran until March 28th, following the fall of the Ukrainian plane on January 8th near the Iranian capital.

Because of the still uncertain security situation about Tehran Airport and Iranian airspace, group companies “Lufthansa” cancels their flights at destination and, starting from Tehran until March 28th 2020, the German company stressed in a communique.

The “Avians of this group will also continue to avoid flying to Iran”, “stressed Lufthansa”, while the European Air Security Agency has recommended on January 11th for European airlines to avoid the country's airspace until a new order. / AT S/
