More than 200 cases have been reported in major cities in China including Beijing and Shanghai, Periscope follows.
The World Health Organisation (OBSH) is looking into international public health emergency announcements on the virus as it did with swine flu and Ebola.
The decision will be made at a meeting Wednesday.
