From the data available to the World Meteorological Organization (OMM), 2019 was the second hottest year in the world after 2016.
Unfortunately, we expect to see many extreme climate events in 2020 and in the coming decades, driven by record levels of greenhouse gases that store heat in atmosphere”, said OMM Secretary General Petter Tallas.
