KEDS said it all happened because of overloads that have caused damage.
Initially, it was reported that in some areas, especially in Fushe Kosovo and Malisheva, there are extreme overloads, where the fuses are constantly burned. Neither Prizren, Suhareka and Ferizaj survived.
Also, overloads in Gjakova have burned several medium-sized power cables, and as a result, some 8,000 consumers have spent the longest night of the year without electricity.
Electricity has been restored to several areas of Gjakova around 0100 after midnight.
Gjakova Mayor Ardian Gjini said that despite overload it is unforgivable that half of the Gjakova municipality be in the dark on the night of the change of weather.
Just unforgivable! KEDS cannot reason so”, he wrote on Facebook.
KEDS has appealed for maximum electricity savings.
