Germany has identified the first case of coronary infection, adding concerns about its spread to Europe.
The Regional Health Ministry in Bavari announced in late hours Monday that the patient is a man from the town of Steinberg, which spans about 20 miles [30 km] southwest of Munich.
Officials said the patient is in good condition, isolated, and monitored by doctors. The ministry provided no further information on the infected man, including gender or ethnic affiliation.
“The people who have been in contact with it have been informed of possible symptoms, hygienic measures and transmission channels”, said the ministry's announcement.
The cases of this virus have already been recorded in many other countries, including Japan, France, Australia, and the United States, writes “Reuters”.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said he is not surprised that the virus has arrived in Germany, adding that the risk remains low.
