The number of suicides in the country is still remaining a disturbing phenomenon in our society. The effects of war still present in the lives of most people, the high rate of depression and similar causes are estimated to be key drivers toward this unfortunate phenomenon.
Discouragement, sickness, the death of a loved one, guilt, and unemployment are some of the reasons, which psychologists say leads to suicide. According to statistics by Kosovo Police Regional Directors, a total of 24 suicides were recorded in 2019, as well as 76 attempted suicides.
